So, after exams, my nerd school gives us a week of fun classes. Instead of going to our regular nerd math/science classes, we get to do stuff like digital photography, stamping, quilting, etc.
So last year, I did dancing, and it was really fun. I adore ballroom dance and older dances because I completely abhor the random obscene amoebae-like ‘dancing’ of these contemporary hooligans.
At Summer Governor’s School, (I should have had an LJ account back then, so I could have written down all the amazing things that happened there) the dance teacher, Leonard, taught us a different dance every weekend. (We had camp-wide dances every Friday. Black-and-White dance, Governor’s Ball, Celebrity dance (I dressed up as an old silver screen Bollywood actress. My friend dressed up as Jesus), and what-have-you)
So, we learned the cha-cha, tango, waltz, and swing. I added to the repertoire with intercession dancing, where I learned the Charleston (which is just like…walking… ???) and the shag. It was all good.
So this year, I signed up for pottery, because I’ve seen the potters with their wheels on PBS since I was little and I thought that was just the coolest thing evah.
And I got into karate.
