DDR Fridays
Feb. 29th, 2008 08:53 pmOkay, so as an unofficial student (not Student Activities Board) planned thing, we're having Dance Dance Revolution parties in Dr. Jones's room/ former Senior Lounge every other Friday.
Don't really know how it happened- Karl had this idea for it, and who knew? Our crazy idea from last year actually turned into Moulin Researche with the Green Research Fairy at last year's nerd school picnic. Likewise, we actually decided to act on this idea and asked the school head if we could do it.
And he actually said yes. I was like d00d, go Karl.
I was really surprised that we got approved.
Yay!
This Friday was amazing because it was the last week of Robotics and there were robot death-matches going on in the student lounge. (no joke. this is a Robotics final project) You will see the fighting arena (with it's black barrier circle of doom) shortly in the video at the end of the post. Man, we need to tape some of those battles.
And I got my AutoCAD project done. (will post pictures later)
But to add to the amazingness, we kicked off DDR today with Pocky and Mrs. Weringo playing DDR against me to "Kids in America."
EPIC.
We tried to get Mr. Howard and Dr. Morgan to play too- Dr. Morgan said probably the next Friday. Howard just laughed. I think he just enjoys sitting back and watching us mess up as we play.
All in all, I'd say we had a pretty good turnout. Karl, Nakama, and I managed to pull in Taylor, Jaime, Mrs. Weringo, Paula, Jessie, Candicia, and Laura. And our army shall grow...
It's a shame the juniors won't get to come since they have internships on Fridays.
And props to Laura Rapp, who has never played DDR before and PWNED.
We started an unofficial CVGS DDR club.

We taped some of it- if it gets onto youtube or something, either cid or I will post it for you.

meanwhile, a preview of Karl and Bryan's death robot (lithium operated load zoomer): Apart from building it to rip other bots to SHREDS!! ...they also programmed it to play the Imperial March
