WTF is the Internets?!

I posted this James Hance painting, and someone with his infinitely delicate sensibilities was offended by it. Yeah, I know.

 

 

I encourage everyone to go look at his other work, which is AWE-SOME. I am probably going to order myself a Wookie the Chew book, especially since it supports his little girl.

 

So this guy started this random rant about how the picture was inappropriate and was mocking Van Gogh. Um, wtf?

 

I should have got out of this conversation a long time ago. This conversation has to be seen to be believed. I tried to adopt a more neutral logical stance so people didn't think I was culturally insensitive or a moron, but clearly this was the wrong tone, because now he's made it this totally random Serious Social Arguement. I wonder if he tries to do that with every conversation to make people think he's doing worthwhile things? (Pettiness coming out, oops! I am actually at heart an astonishingly mean-hearted person) 

 

At this point, there's a part of me that wants to stay in it and say, "IT'S A MOTHERFUCKING PICTURE OF BATMAN IN A VAN GOGH PAINTING, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?! YOU'RE A PHILOSOPHY DOCTORATE- GO DO SOMETHING USEFUL WITH YOUR LIFE INSTEAD OF QUIBBLING OVER RANDOM PICTURE OFFERINGS FROM THE INTERWEBS."

This is absolutely ridiculous, and this is what I mean about people who take themselves WAAY to seriously. There is something to be said about living outside of the university at some point in your life and applying your knowledge to useful things.

This woman will fuck you up

 I love how in the beginning you think, oh, just one of those Big Brother actresses (called Big Boss over there) but when she stops holding back and gets seriously pissed, she turns into this wonderfully articulate and wickedly intelligent individual. She does not falter, she does not stumble, she just hammers it out, and you'd better get out of her way.

Pakistani Actress Veena Malik schools a mullah about Islam

Veena Malik is a Pakistani actress who appeared on the very popular Indian TV show Bigg Boss (the Indian version of Big Brother). In the clip above, a mullah tells her she brought shame on Pakistan with her behavior on the show, and that 100% of Pakistanis agree with him. The mullah also admits he didn't watch the show himself, but knows all of this to be true.

Veena responds by pretty much mopping up the floor with him. She points out out how her religion backs up her actions, where he's in violation of the same rules he's taking her to task for. She also says if he wishes to defend Islam, there are countless targets more deserving of close inspection, but here he is instead wasting his time complaining about an actress.

Save Endgame

Endgame is a show about an agoraphobic Russian grandmaster who solves crimes from the safety of his hotel by applying chess strategy and constructing mental models of his crime scenes and running various what-if scenarios through them.

If you haven't heard of us (and to be quite honest, you probably haven't) the Endgame fan community is trying to get this wonderful show renewed for a second season. The campaign is remarkable because it is international in scope despite the fact that Showcase did not promote or give access to the show anywhere outside of Canada. I had a hell of a time finding it myself, but recently, eastonbunny has uploaded all of the episodes on Youtube. I also have all of them on my hard drive, and you can find them here on tv-links.
