Sciatrix makes some great points in her post Let's Not Generalise, Please about the range of asexuality and the dangers of definitions.

I found myself nodding along to a lot of this post because a lot of the entries on Incredibly Ace Moments deal with people being very proud of the fact that they don't get innuendo, and somehow this makes them more of an ace than me? (To quote Arne, "I make a lot of sex jokes. A lot more than my friends.") I get kind of meh-ed out.

The thread starts off with: "Remember all those double entendres then went over your head? (No, I was usually making them) How about that sex joke a friend told at a party that had to be explained to you? (Maybe once or twice, but come on. Not EVERYONE who's had sex is suddenly a dictionary expert. And as many aces say, sex is everywhere. You don't have to do it to know about it) Or that dull, irritating sex scene in an otherwise good movie that all your friends said was hot?" (Okay, yeah. A lot of good movies are ruined for me this way. But really, does anyone ever enjoy those scenes?)

Don't get me wrong: some of the entries on Incredibly Ace Moments are things I can connect with and find hilarious. It's just some of them that get me down.
