Okay, so I wrote up some more Questing Beasts today, and there's one part that kind of strikes me as odd. I mean, it seems to switch very randomly to something else, but that's how it's supposed to be. But it's still weird.
anyway, HELP. I'm putting that snippet in this post. If you'd rather not read ahead in the fic, you don't have to read the snippet.
Thanx.

“The Leo…it was talking to me.”
Gabriel frowned. “A shapeshifter? Like the Aries?”
“No. I…I heard it talking to me inside my head. It called me friend.”
The Erasi shook his head. “I heard nothing.” Then, his eyes softened. “Look, you’re tired. I understand- it happens.”
“I heard it,” Kuro persisted. “I know I did.”
“Alright,” he replied. Kuro looked at him skeptically and Gabriel spread out his hands. “Alright, I believe you. I do. You heard it talk to you with some sort of…telepathy. It may have been the Leo trying to throw you off guard. Who can say?”
“Yeah.” He nodded once and then once again with a little more enthusiasm. “Yeah, you’re right. You know, I’ve heard that the Zodiac can sometimes speak in other ways. Why…didn’t the Gemini communicate through an entirely different dimension altogether?”
“There you go,” Gabriel replied with satisfaction.
“Though…I wonder why it chose to speak to me,” Kuro said.
“Maybe it didn’t like me,” Gabriel suggested.
Kuro gave him an impish sidelong glance. “Yeah, that’s probably right.”
Gabriel opened his mouth to sling back a retort, but his stomach growled loudly. He put an arm over his middle. “I-I’m hungry,” he confessed lightly, almost in amazement.
“Now that you mention it, so am I,” Kuro replied with same amazement. “I think we…gods, we were fighting that Leo since dawn. I didn’t even think about food.”
A handful of dried tart-apples they had found growing by the side of the road, the rest of the Joshua rations, and a loaf of bread he had bought in the last village they had passed through. Gabriel’s meagre supplies weren’t any better.
“Tart-apples,” Gabriel said. “I’d forgotten about these.”
“Yeah,” Kuro said. He folded one into a piece of bread and popped it into his mouth. “It’s lucky we found them.”
Gabriel looked at him and stopped in mid-bite. “Where…where is that medication you’re supposed to take?”
“That?” Kuro asked almost incomprehensibly. He chewed and swallowed. “I ran out of that…it must have been…oh, two days ago.”
“Do you get refills of that back at Joshua?” Gabriel’s voice was suddenly like the edge of a knife.
“Well, yes, but I didn’t think we should break from the assignment just for a few pills-”
“-Of course we should!” Gabriel snapped. “I know nothing about chemist’s medicine. If you get sick, there’s nothing I’ll be able to do! What if it impairs your ability to carry out Joshua’s assignment?”
“I don’t think it’s that importan-”
“-and you’re dependent on that medicine; if you suddenly don’t have it anymore, bad things can happen to you. I’ve seen it!”
“Fine fine,” Kuro said hurriedly. “Then what? You want us to go back?”
“Should you even have to ask?” Gabriel demanded. “Damn it, Kuro, tell me these kinds of things when they happen, alright?”
“Yeah,” Kuro said, still thinking that Gabriel was overreacting. But then again, he had worked in the Joshua infirmary. “Sorry.”
