So I had a good time at the Hogwarts party. Slytherin (Herford upperclassmen) never showed up, so typical. So it was Gryffindor (Hereford underclassmen), Hufflepuff (Gooch Dillard underclassmen), and Ravenclaw (Gooch Dillard upperclassmen).

I was a beater, and took a bludger to the head. ^_^ It was actually pretty epic. My feet slid out from under me, and my spectacles flew off.

We each won a game and lost a game, so it was nice. Afterwards we retired for burgers and chocolate frogs. We carved pumpkins into strange things (Batsignal, Darth Vadar, Elmo, Gumby) and hung out. A couple of guys brought their homemade PVC and foam swords from their room, so we LARPed. I should be more surprised that all these people are so geeky, but hey, Quidditch matches attract a certain kind of person. All in all, good Halloween so far.

Now I'm off to study Electronics, which I am so lost in/don't care for as a subject and then study for my Digital Logic Design exam, because they lost mine and I have to take it again tomorrow. :(

I rigged up my black choir dress as a cape and we made light sabres out of tissue paper and broom handles. So we're going as Darth Vadar, Obi-Wan, and some random other Jedi. Star Wars.com set up a site of Star Wars masks both new and original. It's for kids...so I clicked it.

P.S. The new movies never happened, in my book. When I say Episodes I, II, and III, I mean New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Just so you know where I stand.

P.P.S. The people down on the other side of the building just started playing Assasin through the open window. It ended, and now I'm playing Exo-Politics. If they follow up with City of Delusion, I will be very happy.

Later

So I was a little upset that I would have to stay inside on Halloween. I mean, it's my (only) favourite American holiday, and it only comes once a year. It doesn't even have that extended feeling of Christmas. It's just one day and poof, it's over. I used to extend Halloween considerably by watching 13 nights of Halloween on tv, checking out all the costume stores, etc. SO MUCH FUN.
But as I've grown older, it's not that I've grown disinterested. I've just had no time whatsoever to do these kind of things. October flew by without me even noticing. I am very sad about this. Every Halloween I've always watched either Hocus Pocus or Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow (or both) and the Halloween themed episodes of whatever shows  watch. (Who else here totally loves the Halloween episodes of shows?). Again, no time.

Last year I helped the Hispanic Engineering Society do face painting for all the little kids from Charlottesville that come to trick or treat on University grounds on the Lawn, went to a costumed swing dance with the Swing Dancing club, briefly went to a Halloween Party, which I found completely not my thing because it was an open party, and then walked with some friends all the way back to dorms where we bought bags of candy from the local convenience store and sat back in someone's room to watch Underworld. All in all, pretty fantastic.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to do any of that this time. But...

My friends dragged me to the Brown Haunting, which is a haunted house the kids in Brown College set up every year. They said they wouldn't be complete without a Sith. (they were Obi-wan and Qui-Gon respectively) During the Brown Haunting, I ran into my friends from anime club. I had been planning on going to the anime club party, but decided I would stay inside and work. Pity, because this week had been horrible, and it had been the one thing that had kept me going.

Well, I ended up walking back over with them and staying till 3:30. (I was wearing my long black choir uniform for my Bellatrix Lestrange costume and someone else was wearing his Phantom of the Opera costume, so we of course posed like we were assasins at the Prime Minister's ball, or something) Thankfully, this conversation did not take place:

("Hey, it's daylight savings time! It's only 2:30 now!"
"One extra hour of playing Kings!"
No way in hell. One of the rules had grown into "you must _____ if you use the word 'you' which then extended to 'I' and the use of your own name. We had great stunted converstion using formal language and code names. I was almost sad when some kind soul finally revoked these rules. It made me think, if nothing else)

My friend stashed my keys in the pumpkin I had carved at the Hogwarts Halloween fest. (Batsignal on one side, Griffindor Chaser Angelina Johnson on the other)

And now it's back to work! But I feel energized! And slightly traumatized...
