Title: The Professor's Wife

Prompt: The only people that can see Watanuki are people with wishes.
Summary: The students all said that Professor Doumeki had a wife who made him lunches and impeccably pressed his shirts. Watanuki found this hilarious.
Warnings/Spoilers: All spoilers till the end of the manga, obviously. Some dark themes. Written for the wtfholic_fest .

AUGH. I wrote this is in five weeks, and I am so TIRED. No more fanfiction for a long WHILE. WHEW.
This fic basically addresses everything I wanted from all of the major characters in the manga. So much xxxHolic disappointment, so little time.

I have been trying for 3 days to figure out how to tell you how much I love this story. But I don't think adequate words exist.

The whole work is so sweet, and makes me so happy to read, and I'm just stupid with affection for every little part of it. The relationship with Watanuki and Doumeki hits me in exactly the right place, all through its development. It is exactly how I would most want to see them carry on through their lives, and I may even have been misting up a bit there at the end.

And oh, your affection for the characters comes through so clearly, I think it's what gives the story its heart. That heart comes right off the page here and touches the reader; writer-wise, I want to give you a standing ovation and possibly a hug for that, because it is not an easy quality to carry across, even the pros can't always do it this well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this story. I swear I'm saving every chapter to my hard drive, because I know it's going to be a lifelong favorite.
