National Coming Out Day: Mutant and Proud

For the first time in a long while, I've finally figured out some things and am comfortable in my own skin. After about seven years of thinking and growing, I came out on Facebook (oh yeah, gasp) earlier today, even though the "I Am Interested In" checkboxes for Men and Women are a shit representation of anything relevant to anybody. So I thought I might as well do it formally here, in my own space.

Congratulations! It's scary to admit to being something other than generically straight. Be it an admission to being gay, lesbian, bi, transe or asexual. (I've only ever admitted my asexuality to a few people really. Don't think I've ever done it in a journal entry... And certainly never IRL...)

So yeah, congrats. :)

Huh. I must be the only person who doesn't find asexuality hard to admit. Of course this is probably because I'm so weird about everything else if I have some ridiculously complicated explanation for why I don't want to hear about all this gush and glitter about who likes who, people seem more okay with it.

Or they just don't get it, in which case I rage privately about how retarded they are and explain it again. And again. And again. And then I cheerfully offer to kick them in the head.

And then I read homestuck. Which has troll quadrants, and canon platonic friendships, and hateshipping.

Of course I wish I could say it the way you do. Especially the bit about cake.
