foolish_m0rtalDude, I LOVED Jonny Quest when I was younger. Sure, I watched some of the Hanna-Barbera, but my generation grew up on the newer installment, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. This included the introduction of new CGI technology for QuestWorld, Race's tough-as-nails daughter, Jessie Bannon (though she got 'chickified' in the second season, but there were a lot of things about the second season that I didn't like), and a totally cool synthed out cover of the originial opening song. For all you inquiring minds, yes, this is the music I listen to while walking to parachuting into class.
You're never going to get this song out of your head. Never.
Race Bannon and Benton Quest were the best parents a child could ever want. Whether you wanted to be in the midst of some of the greatest scientific discoveries and inventions of the era or learn five ways to kill someone with just your thumbs, these guys were the team to hang out with.

Jonny Quest was one of the coolest things on television, and I'm in the middle of rewatching a lot of the episodes I remember from long ago. One of our literary and debating club meetings ended with one of the old presidents chewing me out about preferring the newer series over the original. Best meeting ever. Jonny Quest is always serious business.

Date: 2011-11-16 06:38 am (UTC)Given that all of these except Reboot have multiple incarnations, I wouldn't be able to say exactly which series I watched, though I know it was the X-men with Jubilee in, and she always felt like a... pasted-in new character specially made for the series. I don't know if that is true, but that's how it felt to me.
