The Flux of Fanfic: A Poll for Fanlore
Dec. 9th, 2011 03:48 pmI realised recently while I was on TVTropes that I can't find anything detailing the strange exodus I've observed from fanfiction.net to other fic sites. Why and when does this happen? Is it because of age, experience? I'm trying to find out. Please share this with any fanfiction writers you think may be interested in participating in this study. (You can also read more about Fanfiction.net on Fanlore here)
Study Outline
What publishing online medium did you first use to share your stories and connect with others in your fandom? What drew you to your current medium? My poll seeks to study the movement of fandom members, specifically fanfiction writers, to and from fic publishing sites such as Fanfiction.net, Livejournal, Dreamwidth, and Archive of Our Own. YOU MAY SKIP ANY QUESTIONS YOU DO NOT WISH TO ANSWER. All entries are anonymous.
This poll will be focusing on multi-fandom online sites, i.e. not specific repositories or fanzines. This is part of an investigative article for Fanlore. If you would like to be a part of this project, contact me at ramekin.redux@gmail.com
Thank you very much in advance! You can find the form here.
