Some author view on fanfiction
Apr. 20th, 2012 03:55 amHere at Oh No They Didn't. I understand their point of view, but most fans understand that they are playing in someone else's sandbox and aren't after things like monetary gain. People aren't in fandom for the money. I was sort of surprised and a little hurt by how angry many of them sounded.
I think one commenter said it best when they posted:
"All worthy work is open to interpretations the author did not intend. Art isn't your pet -- it's your kid. It grows up and talks back to you." -Joss Whedon
