Tubey Awards (BSG and SGA SPOILERS ahead)
Jun. 22nd, 2009 11:27 pmSo everyone has an opinion, right? (I've heard yours, I've read your rants, and I've enjoyed them immensely)
Television Without Pity: Spare the Snark, Spoil the Networks, is a website for the t.v discussions inside all of you, just waiting to spill out. Here, fans can discuss what was the best new television series of the year, which character really REALLY needs to get killed off, and which worst pairing was probably created when the writing staff was out doing shots at the local Cattle Annie's.
Right now, TWP is having a polling contest to gather a general consensus about just these sort of things. As I understand it, a batch of polls goes out every week culminating with a list of "____ of 2009" (insert name of desired poll in blank) in the end.
So go to the polls
As I got this information through one of the Stargate Atlantis comms, I only thought it appropriate to give you some Stargate themed polling questions I found that were posted earlier.
1) Best Performance By an Inanimate Object
Nomination: John Sheppard's Hair

It has a life of its own. Sadly, I predict Sheppard will be beaten out by:
The TARDIS:

Give em hell, TARDIS!
2) Worst Relationship
Nomination: Jennifer Keller and Rodney Mckay

If you'll pardon my language, where the FUCK did that come from, anyway? The pairing is just...awkward, and has nothing to do with the fact that I wanted Keller to end up with Ronon. These two were just PAIN-ful. Stargate writing staff must have been playing beer pong with the "Let's make Ellen Tigh the last Cylon!" Battlestar writing staff.
Apparently, some pairing on CSI or Grey's Anatomy might beat this one out. I don't know- I don't watch those shows.
3) Best Almost-Romantic-But-Not-Quite Relationship
Nomination: John Sheppard and Rodney Mckay

ROFL! This reminds me of the ComiCon interview with the SGA cast about the best moments in the show.
Mallozzi: Well, there was the scene with Sheppard and Mckay sharing that poignant moment on the pier.
Audience: *suggestive laughter*
Mallozzi: (defensively) I-It was dark! They were drinking!
Audience: *more suggestive laughter*
I don't even go around actively slashing people, and I sat back and said 'huh...'
Warning: fangirls get into everywhere. Your fandom is not safe. You cannot run, you cannot hide- their numbers are many and they thirst for blood! (And at times, they write very interesting and/or uncomfortable fanfiction)
Update: Sheppard and Mckay got into the final round for this category but didn't get Best Non-Romantic Relationship. Do WHAT?
Most likely to get beaten out by:
Denny Crane and Alan Shore from Boston Legal

or Gregory House and James Wilson from House

If you want my opinion, Teyla Emmagen or Ronon Dex NEED to be nominated for Most Badass, for doubt it not, friend, they are badass. Especially when they fight each other. That should be like, Best Dual Badassery.

(because screw everybody else, you NEED a full picture on this one)
