Equal Rites
Jul. 7th, 2009 01:33 amHow sweet is this? The teddy bear gets a spot on the group pie!
Anime: respecting the civil liberties of stuffed animals everywhere.

P.S. All these people do is bake cookies, have tea parties, and form weird clubs (Saving Seats for People Club, Mystery Club, Transformation Cosplay Club).
Wouldn't it be great if life were more like anime? Then at least I would know there's some strange-haired vaguely androgynous special someone waiting for me out there, somewhere. I just have to go through a series of comedic accidents, get amnesia, inherit special powers on my birthday, and perhaps fall into a well. All of which are much cooler than special androgynous someone, in my opinion, so I'm actually looking forward to the story filler and the rest of it.
So, as you can probably infer from the picture, I just finished watching Strawberry Panic. Strange, with the school uniforms, old Victorian buildings, classical piano music, and weirdly strict curfew that makes all the gates close automatically, SP really had the potential to be a beautiful gothic anime.
It would be great. Augh, they find the other Etoile half-mad in the Strawberry Dorm attic! 'Girl in the Hallway' ghost story is revealed! Shizuma's cold angsty contemplation and penchant for hanging out in forests finally understood! *cackle*
Pretty much all the love stories in SP were about the oblivious friend who finds true love with an older girl and the friend of the oblivious girl who helps her, supports her through everything, and is secretly in love with her but sees personal romantic dreams dashed. Yet best friend remains patient and long-suffering, not getting love, but at least seeing oblivious friend happy.
Because really? Who do you think you're going to be in real life? The true love girl or the torn best friend? Yeah, I thought so. Great esteem booster, you frakked up innocently cheery yuri. Pfft.
SP's Miator school uniforms and misc, because I think they're CUTE:

cleaning outfits

fall uniform

spring uniform

Chiyo-chan and Kagome-chan (with her bear Oshibaru) are the cutest chibis I have ever seen. I do not say these things lightly.
