That cat in the box looks like my Trouble. lol Except he could never fit in such a small box. He's a chubby little thing. I can't lift him anymore, he's so heavey. x.x
Four cats actualy. ^_^; We have a white turkish long-hair named Snowball who is about fourteen. She's overly affectionate, goofy and adorable. We have a blue-point tabby named Billy who is the most affectionate cat EVER as he NEVER bites or scratches anyone. He thinks he's the king of the house. We have a dark gray and white cat named Kiseki who mom found near a building she cleans about five years ago. She's shy and skittish but ubber loving once you've gained her trust. And then we have our fat little black cat, Trouble who lives up to his name in every way and enjoys turning on the printer. ^.^
I should probaly share pictures someday. *Cat person*
We should. I've planned on getting a cat of my own after I get out of undergrad, and living with my roommate's cats has definitely taught me how to care for them and shown me what I'm in for when I get a cat of my own. Let me ask you a question- the litterbox is clean and I wash the floors/furniture with hot water+pine sol every week. What else could be causing cat smells in the house?
Like urin or just regular cat-type-smells that aren't urin? Because I've lived with cats twenty years and I'm just used to the cat-smells. ^.^;
But if it's urin it could be that the cat is marking something... Check the corners. There could be some stray cats roaming around outside and the cat could be marking it's territory. Also, it might have peed under something where you can't see. Mine has peed under my bed before...
I don't either. I meant that usualy people who don't have cats tell me the house "Smells like cats" but to me I don't really know what they mean because that's just normal for me. But if it's urine then their probaly marking things or peeing under something.
They sell this powder stuff that you can put down. It's something for pet oders. You just put it down and let it set and vaccuum it up. For carpets anyway. On tile or wood floors you just need to clean it good with soap and water. Ummm... Pretty much anything for cleaning carpets works just fine though... Unless it's set and has sank THROUGH the carpet in which case just try the powder stuff and see if that helps first.
ah, we just have hardwood in our apartment, so that should be fine. Malcolm is completely polite, so it's probably his fault.
Ahmahgah! I was making creme brulee a few weeks ago and Malcolm Reynolds just came up as I was using the whipping creme, looked up with these huge soulful eyes, and said "mreow?" in a tone that said if he did not receive said creme post haste, a great travesty would be taking place.
I said, "I don't know if creme is actually good for cats."
To which he said, "Mreaow," in a translation I can only take to mean "I know where you sleep at night, you poofy asian bitch."
Yeah, my older brother has dogs and he says he has to use vinigar to get it up when they pee on the carpet but cats I guess aren't as bad as dogs in that respect so it's easier to get rid of the odor.
XD Thats just adorable. Our kitty Trouble, my younger brother was trying to train him to come when called by giving him treats. But now it's like the cat trained HIM! XD He'll cry and run and my brother follows him right to where the snacks are.
Also, cream is fine in moderation for cats. ^.^ Just little tastes. But most table food is really bad so I would suggest not giving them anything other than a little cream or watered down milk or a little bit of cheese or even a little plain rice. But of course, just moderation.
that is a-DORABLE. I remember in musical theatre my friend held the cast party at her house. She had found this kitten in the woods and her family had adopted it. The kitten was curious about the other actors, but it would get scared easily and come crying back to her and then curl up in a little fuzzy ball on her shoulder. I felt bad laughing at its plight, but it was just SO CUTE.
Oh, don't worry, I never feed the cats anything but their designated food. And thank you for the cleaning advice. Rice! I remember in that book The Cat Who Went to Heaven (still one of my favourite books, even though I'm so much older) the cat eats rice.

I remember my grandmother's old parrot back in India liked to eat chili peppers.
