I lived by myself all summer
02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes, I did manage to lose some of the college weight I'd gained eating horrible dining hall food. Still working on getting back to where I was.
03. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No?
04. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes.
05. What countries did you visit?
India, Austria
06. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Better grades in school
07. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I'm not good with any kind of date except for the fruit
08. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving school, building a new website for my choir
09. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting high grades in Digital Logic Design
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Duh
11. What was the best thing you bought?
the entire Firefly series
12. Where did most of your money go?
Tuition and choir dues
13. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I get excited about everything

Snails, by The Format, because I used to listen to it while walking to the bus in the mornings over the summer

Ate the plum pudding I made and wrote/posted Steven Sweeney and the Man With the Silver Cigarette Case

Unfortunately. Trying to get rid of it now.

I started getting into a lot of the TV shows my suite watched, primarily Leverage

I don't hate anyone, per se, but there are two people I'm disliking more than I thought I would

Engineering school doesn't let me read much. I read The Authority over the summer (comic)

25. What did you want and get?
I wanted Stargate Atlantis/Firefly and I got both. ^_^ Yeah, playing the clearance deals game.

Good grades

Young Frankenstein
28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 19 at the beginning of the year and had a movie night with my suite. We went out to a Japanese place for dinner and had the cake they'd baked for me while watching Mulan and Stardust. WIN.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I don't know. Having a study group as prompt and deferential as my roommate's? Though the degree of promptness and deference is kind of sad and demeaning...
30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
I dressed mostly punkish in high school. I'm dressing more and more like a guy as school gets worse. I just get up, throw on whatever's in reach, and drag myself to class.
31. What kept you sane? For most of the year?
My friends both in real life and online
32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Um...nobody?
33. What political issues stirred you the most?
The anti-LGBT marriage laws, the foreclosure measures

Some of my friends from last year who are in a different engineering major now, so I don't see them at all

No matter how hard you work, you will never get ahead in life

At a party that one of our Indian friends always hosts

Working for the Information Technology Communications department, which did techonology/software troubleshooting for University of Virginia students, professors, and staff. And then we all lost our jobs to a call center in Ohio...
42. Did you have to go to the hospital?
No
43. Did you have any encounters with the police?
One of them stopped in their car and asked me if I was okay when he found me lying on the sidewalk. (I just tripped, skidded, and fell along the sidewalk)
44. Would you relive 2009 over and over again?
NO WAY. Okay, well maybe the parts with #35

Nothing
46. Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes, one of our girls in choir who's working on her doctorate in mediaevel literature.

Yes, two people close to me. I've moved on.

Same place I've lived for about eight years now.
