So of course with that last entry, I was asking for it. On the way to the grocery, I pushed the wrong brakes on the bike (it was a HUGE bike) I literally ran INTO this guy. I think it hurt. I asked him in Japanese if he was okay and apologised. He might have replied with some scathing remark, but I couldn't understand it. But he said he was okay. (Of course he did. I mean, you can't exactly say 'arg, I'll never walk again, you crazy foreign bitch!!')

I DID correctly ask the people in the store where to find natto. Then the same guy I ran into was in the store, so I went and hid in the vegetables section for a while, where I made this old woman very happy by saying in Japanese, no no, YOU get the cucumbers first, please.

I was able to buy mostly everything I want.

List of Items Bought:
*Bag of mixed frozen Japanese vegetables: not sure what's in it
*Cucumber (one that was discarded by happy old woman, but it seemed nice because she looked at it for a long time, hopefully not in a 'the hell is THIS?' kind of stare)
*Bag of rice
*Natto (fermented soybeans, eaten at breakfast)
*Nori (seaweed, probably using for onigiri)
*Miso Soup
*Giant bag of barley tea
*Black sesame seeds to season rice

Then I got lost going back AGAIN. FUCK. It got all dark, which made it worse. And while trying to find it, I almost got hit by a truck and a motorcycle (not at once). It was nice cycling through the neighbourhood after dark listening to people play the piano or watching television or out walking. I think one woman was making her baby laugh. (bebe!) But still, I was freaking OUT.

So I asked this one salaryman type, and he told me how to go, but it was on a main busy road, so it was scary. I almost got there. Then I asked this nice woman who was out power-walking, and she power-walked me to Warabi. She was speaking Japanese, and I didn't understand, but she got me there and I flooded her with arigato gozaimas. She said something like 'kyoskete' back, and it wasn't till I was back that I realised she was saying 'ki o tsukete,' which is 'take care.' So NIICE!

So now I'm off to hopefully make some rice, miso soup, and barley tea for dinner. I'm not even going to SAY anything remotely negative about this, lest I post another series of my adventures a few hours later.
