Nov. 30th, 2010 03:51 amTitle: Notes of an Antiquary
Genre: Fantasy, Steampunk, Alternate History
Rating: PG
Summary: Dr. Matthias Harsh leads an ordinary life teaching mediaeval history at Pevensey University till one day he receives a letter summoning him to places unknown. A homage to the ghost stories of M.R. James.
Main Characters: Dr. Matthias Harsh, Jonathan Cosway
Notes: If you're interested in the works of M.R. James, I suggest his book of short stories, Ghost Stories of an Antiquary, which can be found in e-book form at Project Gutenberg here. This series also employs illustrations by 19th century French artist Gustave Dore and are primarily from his contributions to Poe's The Raven.
Please note that these short stories will be presented in the format of James's ghost stories, i.e without summary or preface. Chronologically, they are set 10-15 years before Legerdemain, the Enchanting of Charles East.
